Huskies retain #1 national ranking in latest USTFCCCA poll

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Washington Husky women’s cross country team retains their #1 ranking in this week’s United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls, released Tuesday.

The Huskies, who won the Pacific-10 Conference title on Halloween, scoring the first perfect 15 in Pac-10 history, garnered all twelve first place votes, and sit atop the leaderboard with 360 points.

Oregon, which finished a distant second to the Huskies, and was the pre-season #1 ranked team, remains second in the USTFCCCA poll with 338 points, with Florida State third at 336.

Washington State received 8 votes, and just missed making the top 30 in this week’s polls.

The Husky men’s team is ranked #24 in this week’s poll.

In the Division II rankings, the Western Washington men’s squad is ranked #11 in this week’s polls. In the women’s rankings, Seattle Pacific is ranked #11, and Western Washington is ranked #25.
