Lagat, Walker & Patterson entered in Aviva London Grand Prix...

LONDON, England--Reigning 2007 world champions Brad Walker and Bernard Lagat are among the headliners that will compete in Friday & Saturday's Aviva London Grand Prix meeting at Crystal Palace.

Lagat, formerly from Washington State University, will run in the men's one mile run in a field that includes fellow Olympic and World Championship teammates Lopez Lomong & Leo Manzano.

Walker, from Mountlake Terrace, will contest the pole vault in a field that includes Olympic champion Steve Hooker and world championship teammates Jeremy Scott and Derek Miles.

The Crystal Palace meet will be Walker's second competition of the season, after winning the USA championships last month.

Vancouver native Kara Patterson, the two-time national champion will throw the javelin in London in a field that includes long time rival Rachel Yurkovich from the University of Oregon.

ON THE TRACK: Federal Way's Aretha Thurmond will compete close to home on Saturday, as she will face 2008 Olympic discus champion Stephanie Brown Trafton in Portland at the Mac Wilkins Concordia Throw Center.
