Carly Dockendorf ties for third in pole vault at Commonwealth Games...

DELHI, India--Former University of Washington pole vault standout and current Seattle Pacific University assistant track coach Carly Dockendorf earned a bronze medal for Team Canada Tuesday night in the women's pole vault at the Commonwealth Games at the Jawaharlal Nerhu Stadium.

Dockendorf, a native of Port Moody, British Columbia, and the runner-up in the 2010 Canadian national championships in Toronto, cleared 13-11 1/4 (4.25m) to finish in a three-way tie for third along with Canadian national champ Kelsie Hendry and England's Kate Dennison.

Australia's Alana Boyd won the Commonwealth Games title, with a season's best mark of 14-5 1/4 (4.40m) over Cyprus' Marianna Zachariadi, who cleared the same height.

Former UCLA middle distance runner Jon Rankin, who has been living and training in the Seattle area since April, finished tenth in the semis of the 1500 on Monday, running 3:46.12.

Rankin, who is now representing the Cayman Islands, also competed earlier in the meet in the 800, advancing to the semifinals, where he ran 1:51.10 on Saturday to finish eighth, after getting out of the first round with a fourth place finish in 1:51.4 on Friday.
