Come join Norris Frederick's fundraising dinner on May 30th...

Friend of the blog and US Olympic Trials long jump qualifier Norris Frederick (left/photo by Paul Merca) informs paulmerca.blogspot.com that the 11-time All-American from the University of Washington and Roosevelt HS alumnus will host a fundraising dinner on May 30th at Makers in the Belltown district of Seattle.

The évent, touted as "The Olympic Dinner", presented by Elite Level Marketing, Umpqua Bank and Gourmet Your Way, is a chance for the community to meet and support Frederick in his bid to make the 2012 US Olympic team in the long jump.

This event, which will be emceed by Sports Radio KJR personality Dave "Softy" Mahler, features a number of former and current Seattle professional athletes, Olympic competitors, and influential members of the media. There will be a live jazz band, and a silent auction, in addition to complimentary food and beverages.

Among the items up for bid include tickets to a Portland Trailblazers game, along with accommodations; a scenic flight around Seattle; the opportunity to have a personal chef visit your home and cook dinner, and other items.

Frederick is riding the wave of two straight victories at last weekend's Tuscon Elite meet at Drachman Stadium on the campus of the University of Arizona.

Tickets for the event, priced at $30 per person, can be purchased through this link at Brown Paper Tickets.
