Jordan McNamara races to second place finish in Ireland...

CORK, Ireland--After a disappointing USA national championship meet, in which he failed to get out of the semifinals, Auburn/Riverside HS alum Jordan McNamara (left/photo by Paul Merca) got back on track with a second place finish in the mile Tuesday night at the Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet.

McNamara ran 3:55.76, less than one second off of his personal best, in finishing behind Australia's Cameron Page, who ran 3:54.77.

On his Facebook page, he said, "I committed to the front, running with confidence & self-belief. The pace was blistering (1:55 at 880yd). I kept my cool, stayed in contact, & unleashed hell up the finishing straight away, passing three for a thrilling 2nd place. Considering the recent travel and windy conditions, I'm elated."
