WEEKEND ROUNDUP: SMU's Larissa Kolasinski wins Puget Sound Invitational 6k Saturday...

In Lakewood, Saint Martin’s Larissa Kolasinski (above, #404/photo courtesy Saint Martin’s Athletics) led from the gun to win the women’s race Saturday at the Puget Sound Invitational at Fort Steilacoom State Park.

Kolasinski, a junior from Issaquah, covered the 6k course in 23:51 to win by 27 seconds over host Puget Sound freshman Rachel Metzler.

The host Loggers won the team competition with a low score of 20, with Saint Martin’s squeezing out second with 60 points, one less than Pacific Lutheran.

In the men’s 8k race, Devin Wulff of the University of Portland took the victory in 26:51, as the Pilots took the first six places and scored a perfect 15 points to handily win the meet.

Saint Martin’s Josh Hunt led the Saints with his seventh place finish in 28:07.

Pacific Lutheran took second overall with 65 points, led by sophomore Porter Kreier’s 12th place finish in 29:00.
