RETHYMNO, Greece--Ian Waltz finished seventh in the discus at the Vardinoyannia International Track & Field Meeting in Rethymno, Greece on Monday.
Waltz, the two-time Olympian from Washington State University, had a best throw of 60.27 meters (197-9).
The event was won by reigning world and Olympic champion Gerd Kanter of Estonia, who threw 69.10 meters (226-8).
In the women's pole vault, former University of Washington standout Carly Dockendorf failed to clear her opening height of 4.25m (13-11 1/4).
