Mart Israel gets fourth in discus at Bislett Games...
OSLO, Norway--Former University of Washington discus thrower Mart Israel (left/photo by Paul Merca) finished fourth in the ExxonMobil Bislett Games Thursday night at Bislett Stadium.
In this stop of the Samsung Diamond League tour, Israel threw 207-8 (63.30m) on his sixth and final throw, as his Estonian training partner Gerd Kanter took the victory with a mark of 213-8 (65.14m).
Yennifer Casanas from Spain was second at 211-9 (64.54m), and the legendary Virgilijus Alekna was third at 210-0 (64.00m), overtaking Israel in round five.
In the women's 800 meter run, Ingvill Måkestad finished tenth at 2:01.16, as Morocco's Halima Hachlaf ran a world leading time of 1:58.27.
Jamaica's Usain Bolt ran a world leading time of 19.86 in the rain in the climactic men's 200 meter dash.
