OGDEN, Utah--Eastern Washington's Katie Mahoney (left/photo by Paul Merca) was selected as the Big Sky Conference women’s track athlete of the week for the week of April 22 after putting together one of the best weekends ever by an Eagle distance runner at the Mt. SAC Relays (April 18) in Walnut, California, and Beach Invitational (April 19) in Norwalk.

The Richland native wasn’t done there however, as she went on to run a time of 4:25.33 in the 1,500 at the Beach Invite Saturday, breaking another one of her school records. Mahoney capped the weekend with a time of 2:12.40 in the 800, becoming a triple Big Sky qualifier and moving her up to the No. 2 spot all-time behind school-record holder Katie Ellison (2:11.41, 2000).
