Oiselle's Rebecca Mehra newest member of Seattle track & field community...

SEATTLE--
Confirming what had been known by numerous members of the Seattle track and field community for weeks, Stanford alum Rebecca Mehra (Paul Merca photo) announced Monday that she is moving to Seattle while still competing for the Seattle-based Oiselle pro track team.

In a blog post on the Oiselle website, Mehra announced that she extended her contract with Oiselle for another three seasons, ending with the 2024 season.

Mehra, who had resided in Bend, Oregon as part of Oiselle's Little Wing team, made the move to Seattle in part because of coach Lauren Fleshman's decision to step away from coaching.

Fleshman's decision to step away has affected several members of the Little Wing squad, as Mehra's teammates, Sadi Henderson (Atlanta TC) and Angel Piccirillo (Nike Oregon TC Elite), moved elsewhere to pursue better training situations.

Mehra will be coached in Seattle by the husband and wife team of Bob and Sarah Lesko, both of whom are heavily involved in the day-to-day management of Oiselle.

Mehra advanced to the finals in the 1500 at the US Olympic Trials, where she finished 11th, and got as far as the semifinals in the 800.
