Jeshua Anderson takes sixth in Golden Gala 400 hurdles in Rome...

ROME, Italy--Washington State University alum Jeshua Anderson (left/photo by Randy Miyazaki, trackandfieldphoto.com) finished sixth in the 400 hurdles at Thursday's Golden Gala meeting at the Stadio Olimpico, the fifth stop on the IAAF's Diamond League circuit.

Anderson ran 49.33, as long time rival Johnny Dutch took the win in a time of 48.31.

In the women's discus, University of Washington alum Aretha Thurmond finished seventh with a first round throw of 200-9 (61.18m), as reigning Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic of Croatia won with a toss of 223-11 (68.25m).

The highlight of the meet was Olympic bronze medalist Justin Gatlin upsetting two-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt in the featured 100 meter dash, 9.94 to 9.95.

The IAAF Diamond League series resumes on June 13th with the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway.
