Huskies' Jayden White throws season best at Nebraska...

In Lincoln, Nebraska, Washington's Jayden White (Paul Merca photo) finished second in the men's weight throw Friday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska.

White, who broke Husky Hall of Fame member Scott Nielsen's school record last year when he threw 71-8.25 (21.85m) at the Husky Classic, came 10 centimeters close to matching his school record, as he threw 71-4.25 (21.75m) in the third round of competition.

White's mark is currently tied for tenth on the NCAA Division I descending order list.

Meanwhile, Connor Jost of the Dawgs finished fourth with a throw of 69-8 (21.23m) on his sixth and final attempt.

Nebraska's Alexander Talley took the win with his second round throw of 72-11.75 (22.24m).

In the women's weight throw, Beatrice Asomaning finished fifth with a personal best of 62-9.5 (19.14m), four centimeters above her previous mark of 62-8 (19.10m) set at last week's UW Invitational.

Saturday, MaKayla Kelby and Sam Van Peursem will throw the shot for the Huskies, as the throws group completes its visit to Nebraska.
