Notes on American Track League indoor in Louisville, Don Kirby Elite & Whitworth Invite...

Some quick notes before we head out for day one of the Husky Classic:

Washington alum Olivia Gruver (Paul Merca photo) and former Renton resident Devon Allen are competing Saturday morning at the Eastern Indoors meet in Louisville at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

The meet is the first in a series of indoor and outdoor meets under the American Track League umbrella, and will be televised from 7 to 9 am on ESPN2.

Gruver will vault against a field that includes 2016 Olympic medalist and multi-time world championship medalist Sandi Morris.

Allen, who finished third at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on Staten Island last Sunday, is the headline attraction in the men's 60 hurdles.

Finally, Central Washington, Seattle Pacific, and Saint Martin's, plus a select number of athletes from Gonzaga, Eastern Washington and Washington State will compete in Saturday's Whitworth Invitational at The Podium in Spokane.
