Two good reads on a Monday night...
While perusing the world wide web Monday, I found two good articles on Washington affiliated athletes.
First off, gohuskies.com has an article written by Northwest Runner colleague Joe Darda on All-American steeplechaser Mel Lawrence and Lauren Saylor (left/photo courtesy gohuskies.com), two long-time friends, and two of the key cogs to the Husky juggernaut that's rated the number one NCAA D-I cross country team in the nation, and the defending national champions.
You can read Darda's article here...
Meanwhile, Universal Sports' Joe Battaglia, a talented writer whom I got to know real well this summer in Berlin, has a great in-depth article on Bernard Lagat and his plans for 2010, which includes a greater emphasis on the 5000 meters.
You can read Battaglia's article here...
