Huskies announce 2011 cross country schedule...
The University of Washington announced its 2011 cross country schedule Thursday, with some major changes in its two meets leading up to the Pac-12 Championships in Tempe on October 29th.
The Huskies will open September 2nd with an informal race against Seattle University at a site to be announced.
The season begins in earnest on September 17, when the Huskies host the annual Sundodger Invitational out at Lincoln Park.
The schedule shake-up begins after that, as the Huskies travel to Minneapolis for the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. That will be just one week after the Sundodger on September 24.
In previous years, the Huskies have traveled to Notre Dame for the Notre Dame Invitational.
The second significant change to the Huskies' regular season schedule happens on October 14th, as the Dawgs will head to Madison, Wisconsin for the adidas Wisconsin Invitational, instead of going to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Pre-Nationals meet.
Tempe, Arizona hosts the Pac-12 Conference meet on October 29. Next up is the NCAA West Regional Championships, which the Husky women have won for the past three years. Stanford hosts Regionals this November 12, and those teams that qualify at Regionals advance to Terre Haute, Indiana for the NCAA Championships on November 21.
