Ortega was the national leader in the pentathlon at 3729 points until being overtaken by Kaija Crowe of UC-Colorado Springs Thursday, when she scored 3770. Ortega is currently tied for #6 in the country in Division II so far this season at 18-9.25 (5.72m).
