Dawgs back in USTFCCCA national top 25 after Husky Classic performances...

NEW ORLEANS--
After being bumped out of the national top 25 last week, the University of Washington women's track and field team returned as the nation's number 21 squad in the latest NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Index released by the USTFCCCA Monday.

The Huskies were helped by improved performances, led by Allie Schadler in the mile, along with Katie Rainsberger (photo by Paul Merca) and Madison Heisterman; Marlena Preigh in the 800; and Makayla Kelby in the shot put, at last weekend's Husky Classic.

The nation's top five women's teams are in order: Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas, Georgia and Florida.

Teams from the MPSF in the top 25 include #7 BYU, #8 USC, # 11 Oregon, and #23 Arizona.

Both Washington and Washington State are just outside the national top 25 in the men's ranking index, at numbers 35 and 37, respectively.

The nation's top five men's teams are in order: Oregon, LSU, Arkansas, BYU and Georgia.

USC at 15 and Arizona State at 17 are the only other teams in the MPSF in the men's national top 25.

The USTFCCCA release is available here.
