Around the track--Brad Walker in Jockgrim street vault meet, etc...

After the Herculis meeting and the Barcelona meet over the weekend, things have been a little slow here on the web site, but let's get you caught up on what's to come.

On Wednesday, the annual Jockgrim street pole vault competition (flyer courtesy Stabhochsprung Jockgrim organizing committee) takes place in Jockgrim, Germany, and 2007 world champion and University of Washington alum Brad Walker is among the entries.

Walker, who had the world lead in this event this season at 19-2 (5.84m) going into last week, is coming off of a no-height at the Herculis meeting, the meet where he hurt himself two years ago.

Walker holds the meet record of 19-8 1/4 (6.00m), which he set in 2006.

After not clearing a bar at the USA championships, he no-heighted at the Meeting Areva in Paris, finished in a five way tie for third in a street vault in Karlsruhe, and didn't jump in Padova due to weather conditions.

The start list for the Jockgrim street vault is available here.

One set of results we missed from over the weekend was the Savo Games in Lapinlahti, Finland on Sunday, as former Washington Husky Norris Frederick finished fourth in the long jump, with a wind-aided mark of 25-7 1/2 (7.81m), as Luvo Manyonga, last year's world junior champion, took the win at a windy 26-3 (8.00m).

Results from the Savo Games are available here (long jump is Pituus).

The provisional start lists for Friday's DN Galan meeting in Stockholm, Sweden is now available.

Former Husky Märt Israel from Estonia goes against a field that includes countryman Gerd Kanter, Virgilijus Alekna from Lithuania, and Piotr Malachowski from Poland.

Another ex-Husky, Ingvill Måkestad is tentatively entered in the women's 800 meter run as she sharpens up for her first world championships in Daegu.

The start list for the DN Galan meet, which will be aired live online at universalsports.com, is available here.

Finally, Seattle Pacific alum Chris Randolph was selected by USA Track & Field to participate in the Thorpe Cup decathlon dual meet between the USA and Germany on August 13-14 in Chula Vista, California at the ARCO Olympic Training Center.

Besides Randolph, the men’s roster includes Miller Moss, Mark Jellison and Nick Adcock, who all placed in the top eight in the decathlon at the 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Randolph is a veteran of this meet, finishing seventh in the 2009 edition in Marburg, Germany.

The complete USA team roster is available here.
