Walker wins low-key competition at Olympic Training Center...
CHULA VISTA, California--University of Washington alum Brad Walker (left/photo courtesy USA Track & Field) won the pole vault competition Thursday at the OTC Pre-Olympic Series V meet at the US Olympic Training Center.
Walker, who competed in last week's Samsung Diamond League stop in Shanghai, took the victory with a jump of 18-9 1/4 (5.72m).
In another section of the men's pole vault, Club Northwest's Levi Keller took the victory, jumping 17-6 3/4 (5.35m).
Another Washington alum, Carly Dockendorf, finished fourth in the women's pole vault, as she aims for the Olympic A standard of 14-9 1/4 (4.50m) to improve her chances of making Canada's Olympic team. Dockendorf cleared 14-1 1/4 (4.30m).

NOTE: OTC resident and Vancouver native Kara Patterson competes Friday in the Ostrava Golden Spike Meeting in the Czech Republic against a field that includes Olympic champ Barbora Špotáková of the Czech Republic, and reigning world champion Maria Abakumova.
