Huskies' Alaka fourth in 100m semis at British national championships...

A quick note as Saturday begins with a very busy schedule of meets in Heusden, Belgium and the world youth championships in Donetsk, Ukraine.

At the Sainsbury's British Championships in Birmingham, University of Washington senior James Alaka (left/photo by Randy Miyazaki, trackandfieldphoto.com) finished fourth in his semifinal in the men's 100 meters, running 10.55, as Harry Aikines Aryeetey won in 10.23.

On his Twitter feed, Alaka said, "was chasing today, chasing instead of racing. That's not how it is done, but still; too blessed to be stressed. #godbless & i'll get it back"

The revelation of the British championships came in the next heat, as James Dasaolu ran the second fastest time in British history, running 9.91, behind only Linford Christie's 9.87.  Dasaolu's run is the third fastest time in European history.

We will have a recap of both the Heusden meet and the world youth champs later on today.
