Cas Loxsom no longer part of Brooks Beasts, according to letsrun.com...
According to letsrun.com, Cas Loxsom (left/photo by Paul Merca) is no longer sponsored by Seattle based Brooks, but will still be coached by Beasts TC coach Danny Mackey, at least until the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Sacramento.
In a statement Loxsom emailed to letsrun.com, the Penn State alum said, “I can give a quick statement. I am no longer with Brooks, but am still coached by Danny Mackey. I still live in Seattle and will be training there after Shanghai Diamond League through USAs. I am currently looking for a new sponsor. The issue in question is a personal matter between the team, Brooks and myself, but I can say it's not drug related.”
Loxsom recently was in the Bahamas, running for Team USA at the IAAF World Relays ,where he helped the USA win a gold medal in the 4 x 800 relay.
Loxsom is scheduled to be part of Team USA at the USA vs the World section of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Saturday.
According to an email sent to paulmerca.blogspot.com by Brooks spokesperson Derek Lactaoen, Loxsom was dismissed from the team, "...based on the grounds that he broke team conduct rules on multiple occasions. Dismissing Cas was in the best interest of the Beasts, and was not drug or alcohol related. Cas is an outstanding athlete, and we wish him the best."
