NEW ORLEANS—The USTFCCCA Tuesday announced its final regular team rankings for the 2017 outdoor track and field season, as teams prepare to compete in next week’s NCAA outdoor championships in Eugene.
On the women’s side, the top five teams are Oregon, Arkansas, LSU, USC, and Kentucky.
Arizona State at #20 is the only other Pac-12 squad ranked in the national top 25, at number 18.
Both Washington (#18) and Stanford (#20) dropped out of the national top 25, with the Huskies at number 28.
On the men’s side, the national top five are Texas A&M< Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas.
Teams ranked in the national top 25 include number 9 Oregon, number 14 USC, number 23 UCLA, and number 24 Colorado.
Washington State will have hammer thrower Brock Eager and 400 hurdler CJ Allen, along with heptathlete Alissa Brooks-Johnson (left/photo by Paul Merca), while Gonzaga will have steeplechaser Troy Fraley as its lone representative.
The University of Washington will have eight athletes compete in next week’s finals: pole vaulters Liz Quick and Kristina Owsinski; 1500 meter runner Amy-Eloise Neale; 10000 runner Izzi Batt-Doyle; 400 runner Laura Anuakpado; and the 4 x 400 relay of Whitney Diggs, Imani Apostol, Darhian Mills and Anuakpado.
The NCAA championships are June 7-10 in Eugene at Historic Hayward Field.
