Devon Allen runs season best in Paris Diamond League meet prelims, but false starts out of finals...

PARIS, France—Former Puget Sound area resident Devon Allen (left/photo by Paul Merca)  ran a season best of 13.10 in the qualifying round of the 110 hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League meet at the Stade Charlety Saturday night.

Allen, an Olympic finalist in this event and the 2016 NCAA and USATF national champion while at the University of Oregon, was second to former world champion Sergey Shubenkov of Russia, who ran 13.09 to win the heat.

Unfortunately for Allen, the qualifying round was the only round he ran, as he false started out of the final that was won by Jamaica’s Ronald Levy, who ran a personal best 13.05, while Allen could only sit and watch.

The IAAF Diamond League series moves on to Lausanne on July 6th.
