UW's Nastassja Campbell finishes seventh in Pan Am Games pole vault...


SANTIAGO, Chile-
-NCAA pole vault runner-up Nastassja Campbell (Cesar Gomez/Pan Am Sports photo) of the University of Washington closed out her 2023 outdoor campaign with a seventh place finish at the Pan Am Games at the Coliseo del Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Thursday evening.

Competing against a field of eleven athletes, Campbell opened with a second attempt make at 13-5.25 (4.10m) before bowing out at the next height of 13-9.25 (4.20m).

Campbell's US teammate Bridget Williams, who was a finalist at the world championships in Budapest in August, took the victory with a clearance of 15-1 (4.60m).

Looking ahead to Friday's penultimate day of competition at the track & field venue, Olympia native Brooke Feldmeier and Seattle resident Derek Holdsworth go in the semifinals of the women's and men's 800 at 1:10 pm Pacific/5:10 pm local time, and 4:01 pm Pacific/8:01 pm local time, respectively.

University of Washington alum Gianna Woodruff runs in the finals of the wombs' 400 hurdles at 1:35 pm Pacific/5:35 pm local time.
