Jamaica's Rivaldo Marshall adds more depth to Brooks Beasts' 800m group...
The Seattle based Brooks Beasts announced Friday that University of Arkansas alum Rivaldo Marshall (Paul Merca file photo), a native of Kingston, Jamaica, has signed with the team.
Marshall won the 2024 NCAA indoor title over 800 meters at the University of Iowa, before transferring to Arkansas.
In his two seasons at Arkansas, he finished third in the 800 at the 2025 NCAA outdoor championships, and reprised his 2025 finish this past season.
Marshall was second in this year's NCAA indoor championships for the Razorbacks and won the Southeast Conference 800m title.
He comes to the Beasts with personal bests of 1:45.62 indoors at the Arkansas Qualifier, and 1:44.15 outdoors at the John McDonnell Invitational, both set this season.
His indoor mark was a short lived Jamaican national record, as Navasky Anderson ran 1:44.75 the day after Marshall broke it on February 21st on his home track.
According to Brooks Beasts coach Danny Mackey, “I have a feeling Rivaldo is going to surprise people as a pro. There is a quiet energy and confidence about him that can get him far. I feel the Beasts got lucky with this new teammate.”
