Walker wins low-key competition at Olympic Training Center...

CHULA VISTA, California--University of Washington alum Brad Walker (left/photo courtesy USA Track & Field) won the pole vault competition Thursday at the OTC Pre-Olympic Series V meet at the US Olympic Training Center.

Walker, who competed in last week's Samsung Diamond League stop in Shanghai, took the victory with a jump of 18-9 1/4 (5.72m).

In another section of the men's pole vault, Club Northwest's Levi Keller took the victory, jumping 17-6 3/4 (5.35m).

Another Washington alum, Carly Dockendorf, finished fourth in the women's pole vault, as she aims for the Olympic A standard of 14-9 1/4 (4.50m) to improve her chances of making Canada's Olympic team. Dockendorf cleared 14-1 1/4 (4.30m).

Results of the OTC-Pre Olympic series are available here.

NOTE: OTC resident and Vancouver native Kara Patterson competes Friday in the Ostrava Golden Spike Meeting in the Czech Republic against a field that includes Olympic champ Barbora Špotáková of the Czech Republic, and reigning world champion Maria Abakumova.

The IAAF meet preview is available here.

Live results will be posted via the meet's web site, accessible here.

Thanks for all the great posts about track and field! I noticed in a couple posts you had Levi Keller listed as competing for Club Northwest, he does not compete for the Club but is unattached.
