Trio of former Huskies tune up for Olympics in Europe...
The first half of the European season begins to wind down with the Olympics just around the corner, as a trio of athletes with University of Washington ties (photos by Paul Merca vic PicStitch) get ready for the action in London in just over a fortnight.
In Karlstad, Sweden, Norwegian Olympian Ingvill Måkestad Bovin will run the 800 at the Folksam Grand Prix meet on Thursday, as she possibly looks to duck under 2 minutes and possibly threaten her personal best of 1:59.82.

Friday's Hercilis Meeting in Monaco will feature Renton HS and UW grad Aretha Thurmond in one of her last meets before the Games, as she faces a field that includes Cuba's Yarelis Barrios, Germany's Nadine Muller, Croatia's Sandra Perkovic, and defending Olympic champ and American record holder Stephanie Brown-Trafton.
