Wieczorek & Mackey set to race in Lignano Tuesday...
LIGNANO, Italy--Gig Harbor resident Mark Wieczorek (left/photo by Paul Merca) and University of Washington alum Katie Mackey will compete in Tuesday's Meeting Internazionale di Atletica Leggera.
Wieczorek, who finished second in the 800 in Kortrijk, Belgium on Saturday in 1:47.59, will run in the 800 against a field composed primarily of Americans, including former UC Irvine standout Charles Jock, Oregon's Elijah Greer and Tyler Mulder.
The top seed in the 800 is Kenya's Job Kinyor, who has a time of 1:43.76 listed.
Mackey, who won the 1500 in Kortrijk on Saturday in 4:11.85, goes against a field that includes Great Britain's Lisa Dobriskey, Minnesota alum Gabrielle Anderson, and Canadian Sheila Reid.
