NEW ORLEANS—After two full weeks of indoor track and field competition nationally, the University of Washington women’s track team remained in the number 12 spot in the latest Division I Track & Field Rating Index released by the USTFCCCA Tuesday.

The nation’s top five women’s teams are in order: Arkansas, USC, Texas A&M, Florida, and Texas.

Other women’s programs from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation who are ranked in the top 25 include #6 Oregon, #15 Stanford, #20 BYU, and #22 Colorado.

In the men’s rankings, the Washington men still remain outside the top 30, with Texas Tech remaining number one, and Florida State, Florida, LSU, and Houston rounding out the top five.

Men’s teams from the MPSF in the top 25 include #9 USC, #11 Stanford, #13 BYU, #16 Oregon, and #23 Colorado.

In Division II, the Central Washington women remain ranked #12 after competing at last week’s UW Invitational, where they got an outstanding mark from Alexa Shindruk, whose 9:42.19 in the 3000 ranks #5 in Division II, and #2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

The nation’s top five Division II women’s teams are in order: Grand Valley State, Adams State, Lincoln (Missouri), San Francisco State, and UC-Colorado Springs.

Teams from the GNAC who are ranked in the top 25 include #7 Alaska Anchorage, and #14 Simon Fraser.

No teams from the GNAC are ranked among the nation’s top 25 men’s teams in this weeks’ rating index.
