Camas native Alexa Efraimson joins Pete Julian's training group...

According to a post written by Doug Binder of DyeStat.com, Camas native Alexa Efraimson (left/photo by Paul Merca) is now being coached by former Washington State University distance coach Pete Julian, who has his own professional training group based on the Nike campus in Beaverton.

Efraimson, who turned pro during her senior season at Camas after finishing sixth at the 2014 world junior championships in Eugene, also confirmed her move in an Instagram post.

Efraimson told Binder, "One of the big things that I wanted was a group of teammates that were going to push me every single day, and I've gotten that," Efraimson said. "The transition has been really smooth and I'm loving my new teammates and the training environment that I'm in."

She had been training with Julian's group over the fall.

The training group includes Oregon alums Raevyn Rogers, Olympian Shannon Rowbury, and Germany's Konstanze Klosterhalfen.

Efraimson last raced in 2019 at the Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru, where she was third in 4:08.63 in the 1500m finals. She underwent shoulder surgery last year for a torn labrum and chipped humoral head.
