Joe Waskom returns to Lignano to defend 1500 meter title Sunday...

The European tour for current Huskies Nathan Green, Sophie O'Sullivan, and Chloe Foerster continues Sunday with the Meeting Internazionale Sport Solidarietà in Lignano, Italy, starting at 6:40 pm local time (9:40 am Pacific time).

Green is entered in the men's 1500, where he'll face NCAA 1500 meter champ and 2024 Washington grad Joe Waskom (above/Paul Merca photo) who is the defending champion at this meet.

Also entered in the 1500 are Seattle resident Sam Prakel and Gonzaga alum Yacine Guermali.

Sophie O'Sullivan, who made a late charge in the 1500 at the Morton Games in Dublin on Friday to finish second, drops down to 800 meters. She's entered along with Washington grad student Samantha Friborg.

Friborg was supposed to run the 800 in Dublin on Friday, but didn't start after she was spiked last Tuesday in Cork.

Alum Izzi Batt-Doyle is entered in the 1500, as the Australian Olympian at 5000 meters drops down in distance to face a field led by NCAA 1500 champ Maia Ramsden of Harvard and New Zealand.

Washington's Chloe Foerster is also in the field, as is recent Husky grad Carley Thomas.
