With all the recent talk on the internet about how difficult it is for athletes in Olympic sports like track & field to fund raise, Roosevelt High School and University of Washington alum Norris Frederick (left/photo by Paul Merca) took the bull by the horns, and did something about it.
He threw a party!
Norris, with the help of some friends and MC Aaron Levine of KCPQ 13's Q It Up Sports, took over Citrus Lounge in Seattle's Lake Union Wednesday night for a fund raiser, which featured several former University of Washington athletes.
For $10, folks could walk the red carpet, mingle and have their photos taken with former Husky athletes Spencer Hawes, Isaiah Thomas, Roy Lewis, along with members of the Seattle Mist lingerie football team, as well as bid on celebrity dates with these local celebrities.
Attendees also had the opportunity to win raffle prizes, and bid on donated items in the silent auction portion of the program.
As the party wound down, paulmerca.blogspot.com talked to Norris about Wednesday's fundraising party.

That is awesome. There's nothing like seeing a driven person take the initiative and make things happen. People who whine about their circumstances and not being able to get anywhere need to take a lesson or two from this guy. Thank you for letting people know about this, Paul!
