Ex-WSU jumper Ebba Jungmark ties for fifth in European U-23 Championships...
KAUNAS, Lithuania--Former Washington State University high jumper Ebba Jungmark from Sweden tied for fifth in the finals of the European Athletics Under-23 competition Saturday, clearing a season best of 1.86 meters (6-1 1/4).
Jungmark cleared the first three heights of the competition on the first attempt, but needed three tries to clear her season best.
Russia's Aleksandra Shamsutdinova won the competition with a leap of 6-2 1/4 (1.89m).
The qualifying standards for a possible return to the IAAF world championships in Berlin in that event are 1.91m (6-3 1/4), and 1.95 m (6-4 3/4).
