Eastern Washington's Keshun McGee opens 2020 with victory at the Vandal Open...

MOSCOW, Idaho--Eastern Washington's Keshun McGee (left/photo by Paul Merca) picked up where he left off in the 2019 season, as he won the triple jump at the Vandal Open at the Kibbie Dome on the campus of the University of Idaho.

McGee, a product of Bremerton's Olympic HS who was an NCAA qualifier for the Eagles in both the long and triple jumps at the outdoor championship meet in Austin last year, won with a best of 51-6 (15.71m).

McGee's mark, which is just short of his indoor personal best of 51-9.75 (15.79m) and his all-time best of 52-4.75 (15.97m), is currently tied for number 7 in the Division I performance list for the 2020 indoor season, pending the results of other meets around the country this weekend.

Washington State's Stephanie Cho won the women's 400 on Idaho's oversized 300 meter track, running 54.61 to improve on the 54.69 mark she set in her season opener last month.

Cho's time keeps her at number 6 on the NCAA Division I performance list, pending the results of other meets this weekend.

Cho was one of four Cougar women who earned victories at the Vandal Open.

In addition to Cho, Skyler Walton won the 60 dash in 7.81; Aislinn Overby won the high jump at 5-6/1.68m; and Chrisshnay Brown took the shot put at  47-3/15.56m.

The Cougars' lone win on the men's side came from high jumper Daylon Hicks, who cleared 6-6.75/2.00m.

While McGee was the only Eastern Washington man to leave Moscow with a victory, the Eagles got wins from Vernice Keyes in the women's weight throw at 56-3.25/17.15m; and, Samantha Raines in the pole vault at 12-0.75/3.68m.

Gonzaga got a pair of victories from Aimee Piercy in the women's mile (4:59.33), and from Dominic Arce in the men's 3000 at 8:29.83.

Washington State, Eastern Washington and Gonzaga will send athletes across the Cascades for next Saturday's UW Indoor Preview at the Dempsey Indoor in Seattle.
