Henry Wynne & Brooks Beasts head into Memphis for Ed Murphey Classic Friday...

Even though the focus of pro track and field heading into August is squarely in Europe, with the world championships in Budapest just over two weeks away, there is still some competition here in the United States.

Friday, several members of Seattle's Brooks Beasts head to Memphis for Friday's Ed Murphey Classic.

Henry Wynne (Paul Merca photo) and Dillon Maggard of the Beasts will run in the men's 1500 along with Johnny Gregorek, who is training under UW men's head coach Andy Powell.

The Beasts' Devin Dixon is entered in the men's 800, while teammates Allie Buchalski and UW alum Kayley DeLay will run the women's 3000.

Buchalski and DeLay will be joined by Pasco native Marisa Howard.

Friday's meet will be streamed on Peacock ($) starting at 5:15 pm in Seattle (7:15 pm local time).

OLIVIA MARKEZICH SIGNS NIL DEAL WITH ON RUNNING...

Current NCAA steeplechase champion and Woodinville native Olivia Markezich of Notre Dame announced on her social media channels that she has signed a name, image, and likeness deal with On Running.

In the name, image, and likeness agreement, Markezich can promote On through her social media channels, and other approved media. However, as On is not an equipment sponsor of the University of Notre Dame, she is still required to wear the equipment provided to her by the school (Under Armour is Notre Dame's uniform and footwear supplier) when competing for Notre Dame. She can wear On gear when not competing for Notre Dame.

In a related move, her twin sister Andrea, who graduated in June from the University of Washington, recently announced on social media that will attend graduate school and use her final season of athletic eligibility at Notre Dame, joining Olivia.

This past season, Andrea finished second in the Pac-12 10000, and ran personal bests indoors in the 3000 and 5000, as well as the 10000 outdoors.

In sister Olivia's Instagram post above, Andrea is seen in several photos wearing On Running gear.
