Waleed Suliman of the Brooks Beasts wins mile at Copenhagen Athletics Games...
In Copenhagen, Denmark, Waleed Suliman (Paul Merca photo) of the Brooks Beasts won the men's mile at the Copenhagen Athletics Games Tuesday night at Østerbro Stadion.
Suliman went with the pacemaker, going through the first quarter in about 58 seconds, and 1:58 through the half mile.
They picked it up over the third lap, passing the 1320 mark in about 2:57.
With a group of four chasing Suliman, including Canadian Olympian Charles Philibert-Thiboutot, Suliman opened up the lead once the pacemaker moved off the track, and never looked back. The All-American at Ole Miss stopped the clock at 3:52.04, just missing the personal best of 3:51.89 set last month in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Brooks Beasts teammate Henry Wynne was tenth in a season best 3:58.17.
