Update #1 to time schedule...
Now that the official start lists for the track & field competition at the Olympics have been posted, we can post for you the official start times for athletes competing in day 1.

As always, start times are subject to change. Remember that times posted are local Beijing times, and are 15 hours ahead of Seattle, and 12 hours ahead of the US east coast.
15 August
9:32 am—W Heptathlon day 1 100 hurdles (Diana Pickler): All three American heptathletes are in the same heat-heat 5.
10:30 am—W Heptathlon day 1 high jump (Diana Pickler): Pickler is in group B, which appears to have the better jumpers.
10:33 am—M 100 meter heats (Anson Henry): Henry is in heat 7, the same heat as Walter Dix of the USA. Top 3 plus 10 fastest advance to the quarterfinals Friday night.
11:10 am—W 800 meter heats (Haley Nemra): Nemra is in heat 2 with Alice Schmidt of the USA. Top 3 plus next 3 fastest advance to the semifinals.
7:00 pm--W Heptathlon day 1 shot put (Diana Pickler): Pickler is in the B group, which appears to have the weaker throwers.
7:19 pm—M 1500 meter heats (Bernard Lagat): Lagat is in heat 2 along with Alistair Cragg of Ireland, Juan Carlos Higuero of Spain, who was eighth in Sydney, and Ivan Heshko of Ukraine, who was fifth in Athens. Top 5 plus 4 fastest advance to the semifinals.
7:45 pm – M 100 meter second round (Anson Henry): Heats will be drawn after the Friday morning session.
9:15 pm--W Heptathlon day 1 200 meters (Diana Pickler): Picker is in heat 1 of 5. She drew lane 1.
9:20 pm (flight 2) —W discus qualifying (Aretha Thurmond): Thurmond is in the same flight as defending Olympic champion Natalia Sadova of Russia. Top 12 competitors, or anyone who throws 61.50m/201-9 advance to the finals.
