The Husky men’s squad will race on the East Coast, and for the first time since 2003, apart from the women’s team, as they head to Boston for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston College at Franklin Park.
Washington, which enters the meet ranked #26 in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches poll released earlier this week, faces three nationally ranked teams—#10 Syracuse, #17 Virginia, and #30 Ole Miss.
In addition to host Boston College, other notable teams entered are Georgia Tech, Pitt, North Carolina, Campbell, and Wake Forest.
In its last meet, the Huskies ran a partial squad at its own Sundodger Invitational at Lincoln Park in West Seattle on September 8th.
The men’s 8k gets underway at 3:30 pm local time (12:30 pm in Seattle).

Meanwhile, Seattle University drives down Interstate 5 to Springfield for the annual Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon at the Springfield Golf Club.
Kelly Sullivan’s Redhawks will run against Portland, whose men’s team is ranked number 3 in the USTFCCCA poll, along with # 8 Oregon.
Other teams entered include UC Davis and Nevada’s women’s team.
Like Washington, SeattleU ran a partial squad at the season-opening Sundodger Invitational on September 8th.
The meet gets underway with the women’s 6k at 10:30 am, with the men’s 8k at 11:15 am.

Saturday, Saint Martin’s hosts the Ken Garland Classic on its campus course in Lacey, with the women’s 5k starting at 9:30 am, and the men’s 8k at 10:05 am.
Central Washington and Western Washington will send teams to Lacey, along with several other NCAA D3, NAIA, and club teams.

CROSS COUNTRY NOTES...
Both Washington State and Washington maintain their spots in the USTFCCCA national rankings that were released on Tuesday.
The WSU men remained at #13, while the Husky men stayed at #26.
The national top five mens teams are Northern Arizona, BYU, Portland, Stanford, and Iowa State.
Other Pac-12 men’s teams ranked in the top 30 include #7 Colorado, #8 Oregon, and #20 UCLA.
Despite being idle last week, the Washington women dropped one spot to #17.
The nation’s top five women’s teams are New Mexico, Colorado, Stanford, Oregon and Boise State.
California is the only other Pac-12 team ranked in the national top 30.
In Division II, the Western Washington men’s squad is ranked #25 after the first week of competition, in which they easily won the Central Washington Invitational last Saturday in Ellensburg with a low score of 20 points.
The nation’s top five D2 men’s teams are Adams State, Colorado Mines, Grand Valley State, Western State, and Chico State.
Teams nationally ranked from the GNAC in the men’s poll include #10 Western Oregon, #15 Simon Fraser, and #21 Alaska Anchorage.
No Washington teams are ranked in the women’s Division II poll.
