Both Husky squads maintain their top-25 rankings in latest USTFCCCA D1 rating index...

NEW ORLEANS--
Both of the Washington Husky track and field teams remained in the national top 25 as the USTFCCCA released its weekly Division I National Track & Field Rating Index Monday.

The Washington women moved back up two spots to number 13, thanks to big marks from Anna Gibson and Madison Heisterman in the mile at the Husky Classic over the weekend, along with Haley Herberg (Paul Merca photo) in the 5000, who ran a school record 15:39.19 in the 5000.

Gibson is ranked number four in the mile at 4:32.34, while Heisterman is at number seven at 4:33.24.

Herberg's mark puts her at number 12 on the NCAA Division I descending order list, with less than a month to go before the NCAA indoor championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

Texas and Florida switched spots to become the nation's top women's team after this past weekend's competitions. Arkansas, LSU & Kentucky round out the nation's top five teams.

Oregon at number 12, and Colorado at number 20 are the only other Pac-12 teams in the national top 25.

On the men's side, the Huskies moved up one spot to number 23 with top marks coming from Jayden White in the weight throw, and Brian Fay in the 5000.

White and Fay both set UW school records at the Husky Classic, with White throwing 73-11.75 (22.55m), and Fay running 13:24.00 in the 5000.

The nation's top five men's teams are in order: North Carolina A&T, Georgia, Texas, Texas Tech, and Arkansas.

Pac-12 schools in the top 25 include number 7 Oregon, number 19 Stanford, and number 25 Arizona State.

The Huskies will send some athletes to Fayetteville for the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, and possibly to the JDL DMR Invitational meet in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on the 18-19th.
