Kirkland native Dillon Maggard announces that he's on USA world indoor champs team...

Lake Washington HS grad Dillon Maggard (Paul Merca photo) posted on his Instagram account Monday that he will be part of Team USATF at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia March 18-20th.

Maggard finished third at the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 3000 meters Saturday at The Podium in Spokane, where he ran 7:49.05 to finish behind winner Cole Hocker (7:47.50), and Emmanuel Bor (7:48.64).

Though USA Track & Field has not officially announced the team as of yet, Cole Hocker will pass on the opportunity to run at the world indoors, according to the press release from Utah State University, Maggard's alma mater, and where he's working as a volunteer assistant track coach.

Maggard joins former Pullman resident Katie Nageotte (pole vault) and Isaiah Harris of the Seattle based Brooks Beasts on Team USATF for the world indoor championships.

In addition to the trio, Washington alum Amy-Eloise Markovc will represent Great Britain in the 3000 meters at the world indoors.
