Six from Seattle Pacific & five from Western Washington qualify for NCAA D2 champs...

INDIANAPOLIS--Six athletes from Seattle Pacific, and five from Western Washington are among those advancing to next week's NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 26-28 at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.

For the first time since 2013, the Falcons have an entrant in the men's meet, with David Njeri (Paul Merca photo) going in the triple jump.

On the women's side, Vanessa Aniteye will run the 400-meter dash and likely the second leg of the 4-by-100 relay. Peace Igbonagwam will long jump and lead off the 4-by-1, and Annika Esvelt is doing the long-distance double of the 10,000 and 5000 meters.

Jenna Bouyer and Aniya Green round out the relay, with Bouyer on the anchor and Green on the third leg.


The Vikings will send Mac Franks and Calahan Warren in the 1500 meters, & Drew Weber in the 800, while Ila Davis in the 3000 steeplechase and Amanda Short (Paul Merca photo) in the javelin are the two women heading to the nationals.
