FAY, ROWE & MARKOVC TO RUN IN EUROPEAN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY...

Current Washington Husky Brian Fay (Karen Mitchell photo), along with alums Jack Rowe and Amy-Eloise Markovc are among the entries for Sunday's SPAR European Cross Country Championships outside of Turin, Italy at La Mandria Park in Venaria Reale.

Fay, who just last week set a University of Washington and Irish national record in the indoor 5000 meters in Boston, looks to improve upon his tenth place finish at last year's meet outside of Dublin.

Rowe, who was a graduate student at the University of Washington in the COVID shortened 2020 season, also looks to improve his placing from last year's race, where he finished 18th after going with the leaders early.

In contrast, Markovc is running in her first European cross country championships at the senior level, after moving back to Great Britain from the United States, where she was based in Virginia after graduating from the University of Washington.

The women's senior race gets underway at 3:33 am Pacific/12:33 pm local time, with the men's senior race going at 4:10 am Pacific/1:10 pm local time.

European Athletics will stream the SPAR European Cross Country Championships via its website. The link to their site and the live results are available here.
