UW women remain in USTFCCCA top 25; Brooks Beasts to appear at Rough & Tumble in Ballard..

The University of Washington women's team dropped three spots to number 22 in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division I national outdoor track & field rating index released Tuesday by the coaches' association.

Washington freshman Hana Moll's (Paul Merca photo) meet record performance in winning last weekend's Mt. SAC Relays at 15-1 (4.60m) to maintain her collegiate lead in the pole vault, along with Nastassja Campbell's third place finish at 14-1.25 (4.30m) to put her twelfth on the NCAA D1 descending order list were the only top twenty marks accumulated by the Huskies over the weekend.


The nation's top five women's teams after the previous weekend's meets are in order: LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Oregon and South Carolina.

Other Pac-12 teams in the women's top 25 include number 19 USC, and number 20 California.

In the men's rating index, Washington still finds itself outside the national top 25 at number 28, despite getting a boost from decathlete Jami Schlueter, whose 7712 point performance at Mt. SAC ranks hime tenth on the NCAA descending order list.

The top five teams in the NCAA D1 outdoor ranking index includes in order: Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Texas Tech.

USC at number 6 and Arizona State at number 19 are the only Pac-12 schools in the national top 25.

California at number 27 and Arizona at number 30 join the Huskies on the outside looking in.


No Washington schools are on the Division II men's or women's outdoor ranking index this week.

BROOKS BEASTS TO APPEAR AT ROUGH & TUMBLE PUB IN BALLARD WEDNESDAY...

Members of the Seattle based Brooks Beasts will appear at the Rough & Tumble Pub Wednesday night to do a live show on the Tracklandia YouTube channel with host Jeff Merrill starting at 6 pm.



Scheduled to appear are three of the four legs from the distance medley relay team that set the world record last Friday night of 9:14.58--400 runner Brandon Miller, 800 runner Isaiah Harris (Paul Merca photo), and 1600 anchor Henry Wynne.

Also scheduled to appear are 5000 meter runner Allie Buchalski, and steeplechaser Kayley DeLay, a Washington alum.


ANNA GIBSON FINISHES SIXTH IN USATF ROAD MILE IN DES MOINES...

Washington alum Anna Gibson finished sixth in the USATF Road Mile championships race through the streets of Des Moines, Iowa Tuesday night.

Gibson finished with a time of 4:37, as Rachel McArthur took the win in 4:33.
