WSU adds Eastern Kentucky's Vicody Chepngetich & Virginia Tech's Faith Kimaiyo...

In an Instagram post by Benson Kireru of kenya_sports_, Washington State will add Eastern Kentucky's Vicody Chepngetich and Virginia Tech's Faith Kimaiyo to its roster when the new semester begins in January.

Chepngetich (photo courtesy Eastern Kentucky Athletics) has listed personal bests of 16:36.00 for 5000 and 33:35.26 for 10000 meters, both set last outdoor season.

She was second at the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference championships in the 5000, and competed at the NCAA East regional meet in the 10000.

Kimaiyo (photo courtesy Virginia Tech Athletics) competed in two cross country meets this fall for the Hokies, finishing 29th at the Atlantic Coast Conference championships, and 29th at the NCAA Southeast regional meet.

Both Chepngetich and Kimaiyo are represented by Townhall Athletics, a Kenyan agency that has placed numerous athletes with NCAA schools. The agency also represents current Cougar Rosemary Longisa, who was a cross country All-America this fall, and won both the West Coast Conference and NCAA West Regional cross country titles.

NOTE: The sports information offices of Virginia Tech, and Eastern Kentucky contributed to this report.
