Brooks Beasts sending seven athletes to San Juan Capistrano for The Ten...
A group of seven runners from the Seattle based Brooks Beasts will make the trip to San Juan Capistrano, California for Saturday's running of The Ten.
The Ten, now in its sixth running, is one of the few high performance 10000 meter races in the United States designed for national and international caliber athletes to pursue world championship and Olympic qualifying marks.
In addition, this year's version of The Ten will also feature high performance heats of the men's and women's 1500 meter run.
Allie Buchalski (Paul Merca file photo), who ran 31:52.41 in her debut performance over the distance at last year's meet, looks to improve upon her mark.
She'll be joined by Beasts teammate Chloe Scrimgeour, who has a personal best of 31:41.68 set at last year's NCAA championships in Eugene.
Also in the field is former Beast and world championships marathoner Jessica McClain.
Competing for the Beasts in the men's 1500 are Olympian Brandon Miller, along with Waleed Suliman, Matt Strangio and Parker Stokes.
Teagan Schein-Becker rounds out the seven Brooks Beasts competing Saturday night, as she's entered in the women's 1500.
Washington alum Claire Yerby, now competing for the Bay Area based Peninsula Distance Club, is entered in the women's 1500.
Washington alum Acer Iverson is entered in the B section of the men's 10000 at The Ten. Gonzaga alum Wil Smith is entered in the top section of the men's 10000.
The women's 1500 is scheduled for 6:30 pm Pacific time with the men's race ten minutes later.
The B section of the men's 10000 goes at 8 pm, while the top women's section is scheduled for 8:55 pm, and the top men's section of the 10000 closes the meet at 9:35 pm Pacific.
Flotrack ($) will live stream the meet starting Saturday morning at 9:30 am Pacific time, beginning with a full day of high school competition. The elite portion of the meet begins at 6:30 pm Pacific.
