Brad Walker wins Jeff Hartwig's farewell meet in Aachen, Germany...

Mountlake Terrace's Brad Walker won a special pole vault competition Wednesday in Aachen, Germany commemorating the final meet of fellow 2008 US Olympian Jeff Hartwig, who earlier this year, announced his retirement from the sport.

Walker jumped 5.70m (18-8 1/4) to turn back Germans Alexander Straub (18-4 1/2) and Lars Borgerling (18-0.5). Hartwig finished fifth with a jump of 17-8 1/2.
