Olivia Gruver seventh at Müller British Grand Prix...


GATESHEAD, England--
In the final Wanda Diamond League meeting before the Olympics, University of Washington alum Olivia Gruver (Paul Merca photo) finished seventh in the pole vault at the Müller British Grand Prix meeting Tuesday evening.

Gruver cleared a best of 14-3.5 (4.36m), as fellow American Sandi Morris won with a best of 15-7.25 (4.76m).

She needed two attempts to clear 14-3.5 (4.36m), before bowing out with three misses at the next height of 14-9.5 (4.51m).

In the men's 3000, fellow Husky alum Jack Rowe, making his Wanda Diamond League debut, finished 12th in the men's 3000, running a personal best 7:42.15, topping his previous best of 7:49.71, set earlier this season.

Mohamed Katir of Spain won in a personal best and Spanish national record of 7:27.64.

The Wanda Diamond League circuit pauses for the Olympics, and resumes on August 21st with the Nike Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.
