Izzi Batt-Doyle tunes up for Olympics with second place 1500m finish in Finland...
JOENSUU, Finland--Washington alum Izzi Batt-Doyle (photo courtesy FISU) continued her preparation for the Tokyo Olympics by dropping down in distance at the Motonet Grand Prix meeting Wednesday night.
Batt-Doyle, who will run the 5000 meters for her native Australia, finished second in a time of 4:12.53, just short of her personal best of 4:12.00 set in Lignano, Italy on July 3rd.
Australia's Rose Davies won the race in 4:12.30. Davies will also run the 5000 for Australia at the Tokyo Olympics.
Kreete Verlin of Estonia, who competed for Washington State during the 2019 and 2020 indoor seasons, finished third in the 100 hurdles, running 13.86.

TOTAL SPORTS TO REPRESENT UW ALUM KATIE RAINSBERGER & WSU GRAD PAUL RYAN...
According to two separate Instagram posts, Total Sports Management will represent Washington alum Katie Rainsberger and Washington State grad Paul Ryan.
Rainsberger finished third at the NCAA championships in the 3000 steeplechase, an event she picked up for the first time in the 2021 season, while Ryan earned first team NCAA All-America honors in the 1500 meters.
Both qualified for the US Olympic track & field trials in their specialty, with Rainsberger finishing tenth in the steeple finals in a personal best 9:30.18, and Ryan advancing to the semifinals in the 1500.
Total Sports is one of the larger agencies in the country representing track & field athletes.
