Zags kick off weekend in Iowa City Friday; Saint Martin's, Central & Eastern compete Saturday in Moscow...
IOWA CITY, Iowa--Elisabeth Danis (Paul Merca photo) and Liz Hogan of Gonzaga's women's track team finished fourth and fifth Friday afternoon in the 3000 meter run at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa.
Danis ran 9:47.40, while Hogan ran 9:57.85, as Wisconsin's Sarah Shulze won the race in a time of 9:43.98.
In a separate section of the 3000, the Bulldogs' Makenna Edwards finished second ion 10:09.25, while Lilly Visser was fifth in 10:13.61.
Saturday, the Zags will have entries in the 800 and the mile in a meet that features teams from Baylor, Wisconsin, Northern Iowa, and Purdue.

Other than the Gonzaga women competing in Iowa City, this weekend is a light one for Washington's Division I and II schools, as Saint Martin's, Central Washington and Eastern Washington make the trip to Moscow, Idaho to compete in the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open hosted by the University of Idaho at the Kibbie Dome.
The meet gets underway at 9 am with the women's weight throw, and the first running event gets going at 10:30am with the prelims of the men's 60 hurdles.
