WEEKEND ROUNDUP: UW alum Lindsay Flanagan wins Gold Coast Marathon in Australia...

For this edition of the weekend wrap, we bounce around literally all over the world:

We start the wrap in Australia, where Washington alum Lindsay Flanagan (photo courtesy Gold Coast Marathon) won the women's race at the Gold Coast Marathon in Queensland, where she ran a personal best 2:24:35.

Flanagan, who set a personal best earlier this year at the Paris Marathon on April 3rd, powered to a personal best of 2:24:35 by staying consistent over her 5 kilometer splits, with her fastest 5k split 16:37 from 25 to 30k, and her slowest being 17:47 from 35 to 40k.

Closer to home in Yakima, Washington volunteer coach Sam Prakel won his second straight Yakima Mile on the streets of downtown Yakima Saturday night.

Prakel (3:50.5) cruised to victory in 3:51, taking the win and a new Washington state all-time best mark, beating Washington grad Kieran Lumb, who was second in 3:54 (3:53.3).

Rounding out the top six were WSU grad Colton Johnsen (3:54), Washington alum Mick Stanovsek (3:56), Club Northwest's Tom Anderson (3:57), and WSU grad Zach Stallings (3:57).

Stanford alum Ella Donaghu won the women's elite mile race, running 4:32 (4:31.6) to beat Portland State alum Katie Camarena, who was also timed in 4:32 (4:31.7).

In Dublin, Ireland, Washington's Anna Gibson finished fifth in the women's mile at the Morton Games Saturday night, running 4:34.39.  Washington alum Jack Rowe was third in the 5000 meters, running 13:36.36.

Finally, in Portland, Washington alum Eleanor Fulton was second in a special mile race Saturday night set up by the Union Athletics Club for Oregon alum Jessica Hull.

Hull set an Australian national record of 4:19.89, while Fulton was second in 4:31.30.  En route, Fulton set a personal best over 1500 meters of 4:03.03.

Washington State alum Caroline Austin was fourth in 4:56.16.
